Vung Tau DREAM Apartment: 50m2 Balcony Oasis (Louis&Jack Home)
Vung Tau DREAM Apartment: 50m2 Balcony Oasis - My Unfiltered Take (Louis&Jack Home): Beach Bliss or Balcony Bust? Let's Dive In!
Okay, buckle up, buttercups, because I'm about to unleash the unvarnished truth about the Vung Tau DREAM Apartment: 50m2 Balcony Oasis (Louis&Jack Home). Forget those glossy brochure descriptions, this is a real-people review, warts and all. I'm talking honest-to-goodness impressions, so you can decide if this place is your tropical dream or a minor vacation nightmare.
First Impressions: The Arrival & Accessibility Blues (and maybe some sunshine?)
Getting there? Well, that depends. I booked an airport transfer, which was fantastic (and a lifesaver after a red-eye flight!). Airport transfer is a major plus, trust me. The car park [free of charge] and car park [on-site] options are also great, especially if you're road-tripping. But, and this is a big BUT, regarding Accessibility, this place isn't exactly a ramp-fest. While there are facilities for disabled guests, I'm not entirely sure how extensive they are. A quick glance makes me think this might be more "accommodating" than fully "accessible." Something to double-check if accessibility is a priority. And no, there isn't a car power charging station. My Tesla is sad.
The Room: A Balcony Oasis…or a Mosquito Buffet?
The 50m2 is a decent size. The air conditioning was a godsend battling the Vung Tau humidity, and the blackout curtains helped me sleep off my jet lag. Sweet, sweet sleep. The balcony… well, that’s the star of the show. The window that opens is also rather cool. Picture this: me, sprawled on the sofa (sofa) with a coffee (coffee/tea maker in room!), watching the sunrise. Pure bliss (if you ignore the potential for mosquito attacks). They provide slippers, which are a nice touch, and bathrobes. I mean, who doesn't love a bathrobe moment?
Inside the room you are going to find: Desk, a laptop workspace, a mirror, reading light, extra long bed, interconnecting room(s) available (good for families!), in-room safe box, refrigerator, mini bar, complimentary tea, and free bottled water. All great, but I did desperately miss a scale to stay in top shape. The private bathroom was clean with a separate shower/bathtub, and they have towels, toiletries, hair dryer, and bathtub. They even have the bathroom phone, and additional toilet.
The Wi-Fi Whisperer & the Internet Inquisition:
Alright, let's talk internet. Wi-Fi [free]. Thank the heavens. And, get this, they boast Free Wi-Fi in all rooms! AND Internet access – wireless! So, basically, you're covered. BUT, I used the Internet access – LAN as a backup to get some serious work done on my laptop, which was a total lifesaver. Essential for a digital nomad like myself. Sadly, I can not go crazy using Wi-Fi for special events.
Food, Glorious Food (or, the Quest for a Decent Salad):
The food situation? A mixed bag, to be honest. The Asian breakfast was decent, and there's coffee/tea in restaurant. They offer a Breakfast [buffet], but honestly, I’ve seen better. I was REALLY hoping for something more international. A salad in restaurant? Nope, not to be found, sadly. A la carte in restaurant offerings are available! For alternatives, you can arrange alternative meal arrangement. Room service [24-hour] is a huge plus (hello, midnight cravings!), and the poolside bar is a definite win for cocktails. There are also restaurants, coffee shop , snack bar. Sadly no vegetarian restaurant, nor vegan restaurant, but the Asian cuisine in restaurant is pretty nice Bottle of water is a nice touch.
Relaxation & Rejuvenation: Spa Days & Gym Glories?
And now we come to the good stuff: relaxation. Well, they’ve got a freaking swimming pool [outdoor] – HELL YEAH! The Pool with view is Instagram-worthy material. I spent a solid afternoon lounging by the pool, sipping a fruity concoction (courtesy of the aforementioned bar). They’ve got a Fitness center, but I'm not going to lie, I didn’t make it. Too busy enjoying the view. Also, Sauna, Spa, and the Steamroom are available.
Cleanliness & Safety: Are You Safe From Vampires and Covid?
This is HUGE, because I'm a bit of a germaphobe (don't judge!). They offer: Anti-viral cleaning products, Daily disinfection in common areas, Hand sanitizer, Hygiene certification, Individually-wrapped food options, Physical distancing of at least 1 meter, Professional-grade sanitizing services, Room sanitization opt-out available, Rooms sanitized between stays, Safe dining setup, Sanitized kitchen and tableware items, Staff trained in safety protocol, Sterilizing equipment. They're taking this seriously, and that's a huge relief. Security seems pretty solid too with CCTV in common areas, CCTV outside property, Front desk [24-hour], Smoke alarms, Safety/security feature and Security [24-hour]
Services & Conveniences: The Little Things That Make a Difference (and the ones that drive you nuts):
They have a concierge, a currency exchange, a convenience store, dry cleaning, laundry service, and a gift/souvenir shop. This is a life saver when you need a snack at 3 AM, a souvenir for your aunt, or to get a shirt cleaned. There is also luggage storage, which is great. Some of the services are missing though, such as a Doctor/nurse on call.
Things To Do (Besides Lounging by the Pool):
Well, there's the beach! I'm not going to lie, I spent most of my time chilling out, but I did manage a wander around town. I spotted a Shrine, which I didn’t check out.
The Downside (Because Nothing's Perfect):
Okay, here’s the deal. Some minor niggles. Some things are missing! No Babysitting service. No Family/child friendly. No Kids facilities. No Kids meal. No Doctor/nurse on call. No Hot water linen and laundry washing - I guess that's a good thing, but it makes me wonder.
My Verdict: Is the Vung Tau DREAM Apartment a Dream?
Look, it’s not perfect. But for the price, location, and the massive, gorgeous balcony, I'd say it's a solid choice. Definitely a great option for couples and those prioritizing the balcony experience. If you're obsessed with accessibility, you might want to double-check. If you value a super-duper foodie experience, you might be slightly disappointed. But if you want a clean, comfortable base with a killer balcony and enough amenities to keep you happy, book it!

Unbelievable Luxury Awaits: Discover Hotel Ranjit Legacy, Bhopal!
Alright, strap yourselves in, buttercups. This isn't your sanitized, Instagram-ready travel itinerary. This is the REAL DEAL. My Vung Tau adventure, starting right here, right now, in the glorious, slightly-too-small-but-oh-so-charming Studio Apartment Louis&Jack Home 50m2 with Balcony. Let's see if I can actually keep this from falling apart.
Day 1: Arrival and the Initial Panic (aka, the "Where's the Damn Key?!" Phase)
- 9:00 AM: Arrived in Vung Tau. Plane ride was a blur of questionable airplane food and a screaming baby who clearly hated my existence. My ears are still ringing. First order of business: find the apartment. This is always the most thrilling part of the trip.
- 9:45 AM: Found the apartment building! Triumph! But…where's the key code? I checked the email. Double-checked. Triple-checked. Panic starts to set in. Did I book the wrong place? Did I get scammed? Is this the beginning of my total travel downfall?
- 10:10 AM: Success! Finally, with the combined effort of a frantic text message to the Airbnb host (who, bless their heart, must deal with this daily), and a helpful local pointing at a tiny, barely-visible lockbox, I'm IN! The apartment itself is…cozy. Let's just say "compact charm." And the balcony? Absolutely magnificent, overlooking a tangle of streets and the distant sea. Breathing deep!
- 10:30 AM: Dropped my bags. The urge to sprawl on the bed and do absolutely nothing is strong. Very strong. But I'm a traveler! I must… do. So, I change and go out
- 11:00 AM: Fuel up: Pho from that little place downstairs. The broth is a symphony of flavor, the herbs zing! The best Pho ever! Is it the jet lag? Maybe. Do I care? Absolutely not.
- 12:00 PM: Walk on the beach. The beach… is a sight! So many beach! So much sun! The sand is warm, the waves are… well, not huge, more of a gentle lapping, but perfect for a lazy afternoon.
- 1:00 PM: That nap is a must on a warm beach!
- 3:00 PM: The Great Market Debacle. This is where things started to unravel… in the best way possible. I went to the local market, prepared to embrace the chaos and sample all the things. I got lost (surprise!). I was overwhelmed by the smell of fish (not a fan). Then, a woman, I swear, with a mile-wide smile and eyes that twinkled like Christmas lights, offered me a thing. I had NO idea what it was. It looked like a spiky fruit that had exploded inside. I pointed at it, she giggled, chopped it up, and handed me a sticky, sweet, and utterly mind-blowing piece of dragon fruit (I think it’s called that? who cares!). It was a taste of pure, unadulterated joy. I bought two. Then, I wandered around, feeling like I'd stumbled into a food-related movie.
- 5:00 PM: Back at Louis&Jack's. Sipping a cold beer on that balcony, watching the sunset. Bliss! Except, wait… where did I put the bottle opener? The search begins. And, by the way, I have a growing pile of laundry building up… and I have no idea how to work the washing machine. This could be a problem.
- 7:00 PM: Dinner at a seafood restaurant right on the beach. The food? Incredible. The atmosphere? Magical. The bill? A little less magical, let's be honest. But who cares?! I'm on vacation! I'm in Vietnam! I’m going to enjoy!
- 9:00 PM: Stumbled back to the apartment, exhausted but happy. Tried to watch a movie. Fell asleep halfway through.
Day 2: Exploration and the Unexpected Motorcycle Mishap (aka, "My Life Flashed Before My Very Eyes")
- 8:00 AM: Woke up feeling refreshed… also, my back is killing me from that too-firm mattress. Maybe I'll adjust. Oh, well. Coffee on the balcony. Again, absolutely magical, with street food and the sea below.
- 9:00 AM: Attempted to rent a scooter. The lady at the rental place, who looked like she’d seen it all, gave me the stink eye immediately. I’m sure she’s right! I’m probably the least motorcycle-y person on the planet. But hey, gotta try, right?
- 10:00 AM: Driving! This is going to be a disaster.
- 10:30 AM: The motorbike experience. I tried to be a good driver, but I nearly crashed. The road was a tangled mess of cars and scooters. Some drivers seemed like they had never seen a driving school. The roads are so tight!
- 11:00 AM: The Statue of Jesus. Spectacular and surreal. The views? Breathtaking. The climb? Exhausting. But totally worth it. The other tourists? Well, they were there. But I won't dwell on it.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch at a tiny, hidden cafe. The best Banh Mi I have EVER tasted. Seriously. It was like a flavor explosion in my mouth. I'm already thinking about going back tomorrow.
- 2:00 PM: Back on the motorbike. Driving is easier now, I feel more confident. It's like I did this my whole life.
- 3:00 PM: The accident. I was driving. A dog or something. It jumped out, and I was swerving. I was thrown from my motorcycle, scraped my leg, my whole life flashed before my eyes. Some locals helped me pick up my self and the motorbike. I'm fine, but my leg hurts.
- 3:30 PM: At a small pharmacy, getting a bandage and a shot of something that burns like fire but probably does the trick. Turns out I’m a klutz.
- 4:00 PM: Back at Louis&Jack's, resting sore bones. The balcony feels like a warm hug.
- 5:00 PM: Beer and Netflix. Maybe sleep.
- 7:00 PM: Dinner out again. The seafood is so good!
- 9:00 PM: Ready for bed.
Day 3: Relaxation and Reflection (and a little bit of panic about leaving)
- 9:00 AM: Woke up. That throbbing leg. Decided, "Relaxation day!" Coffee on the balcony.
- 10:00 AM: Sunbathing on the beach (carefully).
- 12:00 PM: The dragonfruit craving resurfaced. Got another one.
- 1:00 PM: Lunch. The same Banh Mi place. Seriously, SO good!
- 2:00 PM: I spent the afternoon wandering around aimlessly, soaking it all in. The smells, the colours, the sounds, the faces. I’m going to be sad to leave.
- 4:00 PM: Packed up my bag. Trying not to think about leaving.
- 5:00 PM: One final drink on the balcony. Watched the sunset.
- 7:00 PM: One final dinner at my favourite seafood restaurant.
- 9:00 PM: Back at Louis&Jack's, packing. Tomorrow I'm leaving. I wish I could stay longer.
- 10:00 PM: Sleep.
Day 4: Departure (and the inevitable post-trip blues)
- 7:00 AM: Woke up. Last coffee on the balcony.
- 8:00 AM: Time to check out. Did the washing machine ever get sorted? Nope. Oh well, it was a good try.
- 9:00 AM: Taxi to the airport. Said goodbye to Louis&Jack's.
- 11:00 AM: Flight.
- Post-trip: Aches in my leg. Loads of laundry. And the most wonderful memories!
